5 COUNTRY, 50 show TEMPERATE RAIN FOREST TOUR

VOLUNTEERS IN LOS ANGELES PLANT 2 MILLION TREES

Howdy Friends and Family,

TEMPERATE RAIN FOREST TOUR KICKS OFF
I've just begun a 5 country 50 show concert tour for the world's Temperate Rain forest with organizer Pat Rasmussen.  We are traveling to most of the temperate rain forest areas of the world which are located on the west coast of Canada and the US, Australia & Chile.  We aren't visiting New Zealand because New Zealand is the first country to protect all its old growth temperate rain forest.  We will also tour in Japan next year, as Japan is one of the largest consumer countries of temperate rain forest wood.
The show consists of a 20 minute slide show about the world's temperate rain forests by Pat Rasmussen, and a concert.

I FOUGHT THE LAWN & THE LAWN WON T-SHIRT
I'm happy to say that the long awaited "Ride the Lawn" T shirt is now out. It features the cowboy from the Wyoming license plate (lopped off with photoshop) riding a top a bucking lawn mower with the words "I fought the lawn and the lawn won".  Printed on organic cotton shirts, needless to say this is a must gift for every proud "rider of the lawn."

LOS ANGELES STUDENTS PLANT 2 MILLION TREES AND REPLANT THE LOS ANGELES RIVER
Last week in Los Angeles I met students and volunteers who work with The Tree People, a group started by students that has planted over 2 million trees in LA since the 1970s.  And now school teachers and students are gearing up to plant native plants along a 26 mile stretch of the Los Angeles River.  They expect the replanting will take up to 10 years using volunteer labor of students, who have a community service requirement to graduate.  If Los Angeles can replant huge habitat areas and revegetate a huge stretch of a decimated river, so can other giant cities around the world.  I also had the joy of attending the United Nations World Peace Day celebration in September with Jane Goodall.  The local Roots and Shoots student groups made and flew 58 giant peace dove puppets. It was a beautiful day.

AUSTRALIA TOUR
In November I'll be touring Australia going from Tasmania over to Melbourne on up the east coast ending in the Lismore area and Brisbane.  I've listed all the details I have below but it would be a good idea to check my web calendar for changes and additions as the schedule is still settling out.
